Davoice - Get the most out of your work

Just because you built it doesn't mean they will come. This is all too many times the analogy that most people will assume when building their website. It has proven in the past to be a fatal mistake. Many people often spend countless hours designing colors and nifty graphics that move and look good to the naked eye but, miss the overall concept that the internet has to offer. If an individual were to reverse the role of design and replace it with even the factors of on-page optimization they would be much more productive.

Studies have shown that the creation process is very important but even more important is the relevant links pointing back to a website that determines what that particular page ranks for. If you were to do a search looking for a potential wife you might type best dating site for meeting philipinas and that type of search is considered a long tail keyword search and chances are the competition would be very low. Links not only have to be one or two words. When working with your website consider the amount of time you spend on each of three very important factors. One design and layout. Two on-page optimization. Three off-page optimization.

When working on your website the first process of design and layout should take into account areas that should have no follow tags to pages that you don't want to be indexed. Having page links throughout your website to especially areas like your shopping cart will reduce and waste your page rank. I like to refer to one of my customers that uses the keyword MICR Toner Pro and the fact that they had to fix their on-page navigation before they could see any real benefit of using my services. Not setting up proper navigational links is one of the single most critical mistakes web designers will make.

Making every bit of information count on your page ranking well is the second most critical step you can take. What's on the page of your website is important but what the search engine sees can cost you your ranking. Your meta tags define what your page is saying except it is going to say this message to the search engines. This is a critical area that will determine whether you are relevant or lumped into the 90 percent of those who don't include this information correctly.

More than just about all other information is the fact that your website needs votes to be relevant. This so called vote comes from some other website linking to you from their website. Now comes the magic - what does the vote mean? That so called vote is an important concept to understand and learn. The vote itself is called a link. That link can determine what the page ranks for determined by what the anchor text of the link says. So it goes without saying if you can get an anchor text link that matches your pages topic which is included in your meta data from a high page rank then you will rank high.

When the sun and moon align themselves this is called an eclipse. In the world of the internet when the website and its incoming links align themselves Google deems this as relevant and drives that particular website to the top of the search. In today's world just having a number one position organically is not a sure fire thing to making more money but it sure makes everything else easier.

As a summary of the three types of work you will be doing on your website you should take social media into consideration when working on your linking process. This is the newest upcoming trend that will make the most impact on your website in the future. Up to this point no one has been able to connect the dots of how to increase relevance through social media but it won't take long before someone does. Be on your toes for new techniques because traditionally this has been the way for savvy internet marketers to get ahead of their competition.
