No coin or screwdriver is needed to tighten the screw. The tapered square base that fits into the tripod base is 27mm X 27mm dimensions on the bottom (that fits inside the opening in the mount head of the tripod).

The dimensions of the QR plate: Outside dimensions are 51mm (2") x 38mm (1.5") at the widest point for the top where the camera attached to.
